Tim Johnson
Director of Operations

Tim Johnson is the Director of Operations at Kershner Trading group.  He manages operational technical support for the trading floor, data centers and a comprehensive, redundant and high-performance network and direct market access infrastructure that runs the business.  

He has over 12 years experience in the technology industry combined with over 10 years experience in the financial industry. At Block Trading he oversaw operations of the Data Center and technical support for all 20 remote offices.  Tim’s contributions at Block played a significant role in allowing the company to deliver quality technical solutions.

For Cornerstone Securities, later named Protrader Securities Tim managed the Help Desk and Data Center operations supporting over 500 traders spanning 25 offices. As a Senior Technologist managing a top notch technology shop at Cornerstone/Protrader, he was instrumental in adding high value to the firm and a key person in the successful sale of Protrader to Instinet.   

When Kershner Trading bought the technology back from Instinet they recruited Tim to build and grow a superior Operation’s department for Kershner Trading Group.  Tim and his team were instrumental in the successful completion of the Instinet deal and the privatization and integration of the acquired technology.  His successes include establishing two new resilient datacenters, creating high-bandwidth low latency connections to the US markets, implementing significant trading floor infrastructure upgrades and a fully-resilient internal network between our trading floor, remote offices, datacenters and the markets.
